Clearances for businesses and organisations
Business premises need clearing for all kinds of reasons: moving, refurbishing, closing down, downsizing or simply getting rid of furniture and equipment that has built up over time. We work with business owners, office managers, landlords and agents to clear commercial spaces with as little disruption as possible.
The premises we clear
Offices
Desks, office chairs, filing cabinets, meeting tables, screens, shelving, old IT equipment and boxes of archived files. If you have confidential paperwork, let us know so it can be kept separate and handled through your own confidential waste arrangements.
Shops and retail units
Shop fittings, display units, counters, stockroom shelving, signage, unsold or damaged stock and packaging, whether you're refitting or handing the unit back at the end of a lease.
Pubs, cafés and restaurants
Tables, chairs, bar stools, beer garden furniture, soft furnishings and old kitchen equipment. We can plan the work for before opening or after closing so trade isn't interrupted.
Warehouses and industrial units
Pallets, shelving, old stock, packaging, broken equipment and general waste that has built up, cleared so the space can be reused or returned to the landlord.
Care homes
Residents' rooms when someone moves on or passes away, and furniture or equipment replaced during a refurbishment. We work quietly and respectfully, at times that suit residents and staff, and can set aside personal belongings for families.
Planning a commercial clearance
- Survey and quote. We can usually visit to give a free, no-obligation quote, or quote from photos and a list of what's there.
- Agree the scope. We confirm what goes, what stays and any items that need special handling, such as electrical equipment or confidential files.
- Schedule around you. We plan around trading hours, deliveries, residents or staff, and the building's access and parking.
- Clear and sweep. We remove everything agreed and sweep the space clean, ready for handover, a refit or new occupants.
Reuse, recycling and your duty of care
Office furniture and fittings in good condition can often be reused, so we sort as we clear: reusable items are donated or recycled where possible, and the rest goes to licensed facilities. Electrical equipment is separated for recycling, so please make sure any data is wiped or hard drives removed before collection.
Businesses have a legal duty of care for their waste, which includes checking that whoever takes it away is registered to do so. GOV.UK sets out your responsibilities for business waste, and it's worth asking about paperwork when you get a quote, from us or from anyone else.
