Two Cattericks, one local clearance service
Catterick covers two quite different places. Catterick Garrison, in the DL9 postcode, is the largest British Army garrison in the world and a busy town in its own right, closely linked with neighbouring Colburn, Hipswell and Scotton, with shops and a cinema at Princes Gate. A few miles east, Catterick village is an older settlement just west of the River Swale, bypassed by the A1, with St Anne's Church at its heart and the racecourse at nearby Catterick Bridge.
We provide house clearances in both, and in the villages in between. Whatever your reason for clearing a home, we offer free, no-obligation quotes and a calm, organised service.
When a posting means moving on
For many service families, moving house is simply part of life. A posting can come with less notice than you would like, and the next home may be smaller, further away or overseas. That often means quick decisions about furniture, garden equipment and boxes that have been stored in the loft since the last move.
We understand that this can be a stressful time, particularly if your partner is already away or the children are starting a new school. Our aim is to make the clearance one less thing to think about. You decide what goes, we take care of the lifting, sorting and disposal, and you can get on with the rest of the move.
It often helps to start early. Once you know your moving date, a quick look round the house, or a few photos, lets us give you a quote and pencil in a date. You can then keep adding to the pile of things to go as you pack, without worrying about how it will all be taken away at the end.
Working to your march-out date
If you are leaving Service Family Accommodation, let us know when your march-out is booked. We will agree a clearance date that leaves you enough time to clean before the inspection, and we sweep through as we finish so you are not left with dust and debris.
Only taking what is yours
Some quarters come with furniture or appliances that belong to the accommodation provider. Point these out when we quote and we will leave them exactly where they are, removing only your own belongings.
Leaving the forces
Service leavers moving into civilian housing sometimes find their furniture no longer suits the new home. We can take away what you no longer need, and our furniture removal option works well if it is just a few larger pieces.
Catterick village and the Swale side
Catterick village has older stone houses and cottages around its centre, alongside later homes and bungalows. Clearances here often follow a death in the family or a move into care. Our gentle bereavement service works at the family's pace, keeping aside photographs, documents and keepsakes, and nothing leaves until you are ready. We also cover nearby Brompton-on-Swale, Scorton and Tunstall, where cottages with long gardens and outbuildings are common, and we include sheds, greenhouses and stores in the quote so the whole property can be finished in one go.
Landlords, letting agents and garages
With families coming and going, rented homes around the Garrison and Colburn can change hands often. When former tenants leave belongings behind, our clearances between tenancies get the property emptied and swept, ready for cleaning and re-letting.
Garages, sheds and lock-ups are another common job, often full of bikes, sports kit, camping gear, tools and things kept just in case after one move too many. Garage and shed clearance can be booked on its own or alongside the house.
How a Catterick clearance works
- Tell us your dates. Let us know your deadline, whether that is a march-out, a sale or a new tenancy.
- Get a free quote. We can usually visit, or quote from photos if you are busy packing.
- Agree the list. Point out what is staying, what is going with you and anything we should look out for.
- Clearance and sorting. Usable items are donated or recycled where possible, and the rest goes to licensed facilities.
- Swept and ready. We sweep through and leave the property ready for your cleaning or inspection.
Only a few bulky items?
If you only have one or two large items to get rid of, North Yorkshire Council offers a bulky waste collection, and details are on its bins, recycling and waste pages. For anything more than that, we are happy to quote.
Getting a quote
We cover the whole Catterick area, as well as Richmond a few miles to the north and the Bedale area to the south. Request a quote with your address, your dates and a little about the property, and we will come back to you with a price and an honest idea of when we can do the work.
